A newly-launched eight-night journey through the Mediterranean with Atlas Ocean Voyages will culminate in the rare experience of witnessing a total solar eclipse from the open sea.
Departing 27 July 2027, from Barcelona in Spain, the 2027 Solar Eclipse Expedition aboard World Traveller will call on Ibiza, Cartagena, Motril, and Puerto Banús before positioning itself at sea on 2 August 2027, for the celestial event. Guests will enjoy a front-row seat to the eclipse under the guidance of Jonathan H. Ward, who is an author, astrophotographer, and Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society.

The itinerary blends astronomical wonder with cultural depth. Highlights include an overnight in Ibiza featuring a curated wine tasting in Santa Gertrudis, exploration of Cartagena’s historic World War II submarine tunnels, and a visit to the ancient city of Ronda from Puerto Banús, with a late night in port.
The journey concludes in Lisbon, Portugal, following a final call in Portimão. Fares for the expedition begin at $9,999 per person and include Atlas’ Explorer’s Choice Amenity.
