Queenstown has welcomed another new luxe addition to its hospitality landscape with the opening of Coronet Ridge Resort, a five-star transformation of the former Nugget Point Hotel.

Following a sweeping multi-million-dollar redevelopment, the new 41-room alpine retreat is now described as “the definitive address for discerning travellers seeking a combination of awe-inspiring nature and refined luxury.”

Set above the Shotover River in the exclusive enclave of Arthur’s Point, Coronet Ridge Resort is ideally located for both Coronet Peak Ski Area and central Queenstown. It is led by General Manager Ethan Heng, whose extensive hospitality experience has been central to the property’s transformation.

Clare Davies, Founder and Managing Director of Capstone Hotel Management, highlighted the resort’s unique appeal: “We are delighted to welcome guests to experience a new era of luxury hospitality amid the secluded beauty of New Zealand’s Southern Alps,” she said.

Designed by G2 Studio with interiors in collaboration with Furnz Group, every aspect of the resort has been crafted to reflect quiet luxury and timeless elegance. Rooms range from 37 sqm Alpine View and Shotover River View rooms to 70 sqm two-bedroom Coronet Suites.

Executive Chef Dominic Dsouza’s seasonal menu highlights locally sourced ingredients across breakfast, brunch, dinner, and après-ski experiences. The Library Bar provides a cozy retreat on winter evenings with a fireplace and a selection of single malt whiskies and Central Otago wines.
