A century-old clifftop villa once built as used as a summer home has been reimagined into a rare private retreat, with Villa Beatrice, the first private villa in Belmond’s portfolio, now available for exclusive use.
The villa was originally built in 1913 by Tuscan architect Gino Coppedè for Ligurian entrepreneur Attilio Odero. Now, following a sensitive restoration by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, it offers “the refined yet relaxed spirit of an enchanted private hideaway” just a short stroll from Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino.
Inspired by Art Nouveau and Gothic Revival, Coppedè’s design fuses architecture, art and sculpture, resulting in a landmark that interprets historic eras and styles, with features such as intricate stucco work and wrought iron motifs, frescoes, arched windows and a signature torretta with a rare 360-degree perspective.

Inside, Brudnizki’s refreshed interiors reflect “a relaxed approach to luxury”. “We wanted guests to feel that they had been welcomed into a cherished family villa, lovingly enriched by successive generations,” Brudnizki said. “Each element tells the story of the house itself.”
Set within lush cascading gardens, the villa features five suites, a “theatrical” main terrace that hosts up to 30 guests, and a private plunge pool and private sea access. The estate also includes La Casetta, a Ligurian stone guest house hidden in the garden.
Tailored experiences such as cooking classes, mixology, and sunset cruises promise guests a retreat where “time plays out differently.”
Villa Beatrice is available for exclusive use from 29 June – 2 November 2025. Pricing is available on request.
