For the first time, MICHELIN has awarded Keys to standout hotels across Oceania, with only one Australian property awarded the coveted Three Key distinction – Lizard Island Resort.
The ranking for 2025 recognised 63 properties in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and French Polynesia.
Though the list of countries may be brief, the range of experiences is anything but – spanning secluded island retreats, cutting-edge coastal design and breathtaking estates in dramatic landscapes.
The highest-rated hotels in the region largely lie in remote, awe-inspiring locations: for example, The Brando in French Polynesia or Lizard Island Resort on the Great Barrier Reef.
That said, the selection also includes an impressive mix of city hotels. From elegant heritage buildings to under-the-radar boutique gems and top-tier international luxury names, the list ensures that urban travellers are equally well catered for.
