Regent Seven Seas Cruises Vice President of Sales & General Manager Asia Pacific Lisa Pile is among the tourism representatives that have been appointed to the inaugural Advisory Board for Tourism and Events NT.
Made by Northern Territory Minister for Tourism and Hospitality and Major Events Marie-Clare Boothby, the announcement comes as the Northern Territory’s new body, which is focused on growing the region’s visitor economy, outlines its vision in the Northern Territory Visitor Economy Strategy 2032.
Pile told LATTE she was “very proud” to be appointed to the Advisory Board. “The Territory is a special place to me as it is where I was raised, and with experience across destination marketing, business events, hotels and cruising, I look forward to contributing to the strategic direction and long-term success of the destination,” she said.
Paul Ah Chee, a founding member of the NT Aboriginal Tourism Advisory Council, has been appointed Chair of the Advisory Board. In addition to Pile, members include Amy Hill, Brett Mitchell, Hayley Richards, Paul Ah Chee, Penny Priest, Suzana Bishop and Tim McColl Jones.

Ah Chee added that he was excited to work with the Advisory Board to showcase the Territory’s offerings. “I look forward to working with the Advisory Board to showcase the Northern Territory’s culture, lifestyle and experiences,” he said.
“The new highly experienced Advisory Board will provide expert advice to grow the visitor economy, showcase the destination, Aboriginal culture, unique landscapes and the cultural diversity of the Northern Territory.”
Meanwhile, Tourism and Events NT CEO Suzana Bishop welcomed the diverse range of skills on the board. “We received nationwide interest from extremely accomplished individuals, which indicates the esteem Tourism and Events NT has within the industry,” she said.
Bishop highlighted the board’s role in the future of the Territory’s visitor sector. “I look forward to seeing this new board shape the future of the Northern Territory visitor economy, from growing the industry, to showcasing our incredible events and experiences to the world,” she said.
The board was selected after an extensive search, which attracted more than 50 nominations from high-calibre professionals – 21 from within the Territory and 33 from interstate and overseas. Selection focused on professional experience rather than industry or sector representation to deliver the objectives of the Visitor Economy Strategy 2032.
The board’s goal is to provide local, national, and international perspectives to the Territory’s tourism strategy. Together, the eight members bring “a diverse skillset that will guide Tourism and Events NT,” the announcement stated.
The Advisory Board will officially began its work on 1 January 2026.
