Luxury Action has unveiled its most secluded destination to date with the opening of the Aurora Radar Station, an ultra-private retreat set deep within the Arctic tundra of Finnish Lapland.
Located in Hetta, the newly launched outpost transforms a former Cold War-era radar station into a refined sanctuary for travellers seeking total privacy, cultural immersion and dramatic northern landscapes.

Highly classified since the mid-1960s, the radar station has now been reimagined as a luxury hideaway that retains its sense of mystery while offering modern comfort. Surrounded by vast tundra and striking Arctic scenery, the property allows guests to disconnect entirely, with silence broken only by nature itself.
Its remote location and minimal light pollution make it an exceptional vantage point for witnessing the Aurora Borealis, which frequently illuminates the sky with vivid clarity.

The retreat sits at the crossroads of Finland, Sweden and Norway – a region that is home to the indigenous Sámi people, whose traditions transcend national borders and are deeply connected to the land. Guests staying at Aurora Radar Station are invited to experience the Arctic as it has been lived for generations, exploring the tundra with a strong emphasis on respect for nature and long-held customs.
Accommodation is deliberately limited to preserve the sense of exclusivity. The property comprises five apartments, four of which are reserved for guests, while a fifth houses staff and dining facilities. In total, the retreat offers ten bedrooms and eight bathrooms, accommodating up to 26 guests. Interiors combine a modern townhouse aesthetic with warmth and functionality, designed for comfort in extreme conditions.

Wellness is a central part of the experience. A separate sauna building includes a lounge area, a traditional Finnish sauna and an outdoor jacuzzi, allowing guests to relax after days spent exploring the Arctic environment. Despite its isolation, the retreat is discreetly accessible, located approximately 20 minutes by car from Enontekiö Airport and around two hours from Kittilä Airport.
Aurora Radar Station reflects Luxury Action’s broader philosophy, which prioritises authenticity, discretion and thoughtful design over spectacle. Rather than presenting a stylised version of Lapland, the company aims to showcase what it describes as the region’s true character — raw, quiet and deeply atmospheric.
