Qantas Group is optimistic for a return to commercial international flights from December to destinations on a similar path to Australia’s vaccination threshold.

Emirates is rolling out a redesigned premium cabin experience aboard its Airbus A380 double-decker fleet.

Qatar Airways says a decision to ground its entire fleet of 10 Airbus A380s due to the COVID-19 crisis has had vast benefits to the environment.

Emirates will deploy A380s on its daily Amsterdam service and add a second daily superjumbo service to London Heathrow starting from 1 August.

A masterclass in the appreciation of Ceylon Tea took place at 40,000 feet when Emirates and Dilmah celebrated a 27-year partnership on board an Emirates A380 flight from Dubai to London this week. Held at the A380 On-board Lounge by Dilhan Fernando, CEO, Dilmah Tea and the founder of Dilmah, Merrill J. Fernando ahead of International Tea Day on 15 December, the masterclass was the first of its kind held in the skies.

Qantas has introduced its first of 12 upgraded Airbus A380 aircraft under a multi-million-dollar retrofit. The product enhancement includes new seating in expanded Business and Premium Economy cabins and a refresh for the superjumbos First and Economy cabins.

Airbus and Emirates reached an agreement on outstanding A380 deliveries. The airline will receive 14 more A380s from 2019 until the end of 2021, taking its total A380 order book to 123 units.

“We have already ‘spec’d out’ the airplanes; we know exactly what we’re going to do, [and] where we’re going to place these seats, which zones and how we’re designing the product,” Emirates President Tim Clark said.
