“Heightened demand” for sailings in late 2021 and beyond
AmaWaterways is now accepting bookings for the majority of its 2022 deployment, six months ahead of previous season openings. All itineraries in France, Portugal, Holland and those travelling the Rhine and Moselle rivers are open for reservations. By 20 May the remaining 2022 river cruise voyages with pre- and post-cruise land extensions will also be available.

New 68-guest Nile River cruiser, AmaDahlia, to launch next September
AmaWaterways has confirmed its Egypt return for 2021, with a new 11-night river cruise and land program now on sale beginning next September. The company’s Co-Founder and Executive Vice President Kristen Karst flagged AmaWaterways’ resumption of operation in Egypt in mid-2019 and more widely at the CLIA UK conference in November. The river cruise specialist last offered an Egypt program ahead of the Arab Spring in 2011.

Brand new ship to debut in the Netherlands

Lineup expanded to 67 wine-themed sailings
AmaWaterways has introduced two new wine-themed itineraries to its 2020 lineup of specialty voyages on the Main, Rhine and Moselle Rivers. Next year’s program features 67 Wine Cruises, including two new options that showcase France, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

The “godfather of river cruising” recognised for innovation and trendsetting
AmaWaterways’ President and Co-Founder, Rudi Schreiner, dubbed the “godfather of river cruising,” received the esteemed Outstanding Contribution Award from Seatrade Cruise. The award celebrates Schreiner’s long-standing history of innovating the river cruising industry, most recently with the revolutionary AmaMagna, which is twice the width of traditional river cruise ships. Schreiner accepted the award in Hamburg, Germany at the CLIA Germany Gala Dinner during SeaTrade Europe on 11 September, 2019.

AmaSiena to debut in 2020
AmaWaterways (represented in Australia by APT) will add a new ship to its European fleet on 1 July, 2020 to be named AmaSiena. The 156-guest ship will sail a variety of seven, 10 and 11-night itineraries, visiting iconic cities, historical villages and spectacular vineyard regions along the Rhine, Main, Moselle and Danube rivers.
