New deal with Chilean authorities to see two ships deployed from Punta Arenas
Silversea Cruises has confirmed it will deploy three ships – Silver Cloud, Silver Wind and Silver Explorer – to Antarctica for the 2021/22 season. The news comes after the ultra-luxury cruise line struck a deal with Chilean authorities to operate from Punta Arenas for its upcoming season. Silver Cloud and Silver Wind will cruise from Punta Arenas, while Silver Explorer will operate, as scheduled, from Puerto Williams from November 2021.

Airbus H145 helicopters to whisk Ultramarine guests off for the ultimate adventures
Quark Expeditions has revealed details of its immersive helicopter program that will be available utilising the company’s two twin-engine Airbus H145 helicopters. The choppers are designed to take travellers deeper into the polar regions than any other helicopter in its class. They will be operated from Quark’s new expedition ship, Ultramarine.
