Azamara Journey returned to service last week in the Mediterranean, signalling the entire fleet restart for Azamara and the upmarket cruise line’s four ships.

Azamara has confirmed it will partner with Versonix Seaware for its new booking platform to launch in early 2023, and exclusively foreshadowed by LATTE earlier this month.

Azamara has been forced to withdraw Venice as its homeport in the Italian city for 2022, relocating its berthing option to Bologna (Ravenna) – about 2.5 hours away by road.

Thirty-nine new itineraries have been unveiled by Azamara for 2023 and 2024 across its four-ship fleet. The deployment will see Azmara’s vessels positioned around the globe, with Azamara Pursuit in South Africa, Azamara Quest in South America, Azamara Journey in Australia and Asia, and Azamara Onward in the Mediterranean and Caribbean regions.

Azamara will return to South Africa this winter as the country reopens international cruising in South African waters and ports. Azamara Pursuit will operate six back-to-back voyages from Cape Town from January to March 2022 and will resume pre- and post-cruise land explorations with luxury safari operator, Micato Safaris.

Azamara will offer 95 itineraries and visit more than 200 ports in 40 countries as part of its newly released 2023 European collection.

Azamara has opened bookings for its new winter 2021/22 itineraries, encompassing the Caribbean and Canary Islands. Voyages will operate between 30 November through to early June next year.

Azamara has confirmed an extension of its global cruise suspension which has seen the boutique cruise line cancel more than a dozen voyages of Azamara Journey, including its entire deployment to Australia and New Zealand.

Azamara has revealed the name and vessel handover of its new ship, Azamara Onward. The vessel switched ownership from Royal Caribbean Group to Sycamore Partners last week, coinciding with Azamara’s transition into an independent brand and cruise company.The ship previously operated under the Princess Cruises’ brand as Pacific Princess before being acquired by Sycamore Partners in late January 2021.

Azamara’s new owner, Sycamore Partners, hasn’t wasted any time in coming good on its commitment to invest in the boutique small ship operator.

Azamara has extended its coronavirus operations pause until the 2021 Europe season, and return to service on 20 March 2021 for Azamara Quest’s originally scheduled 12-night Spain Country Intensive voyage, Azamara Journey’s 9 April 2021 voyage from Lisbon to Barcelona, and Azamara Pursuit’s new series of Greek Country Intensive Voyages starting on 9 May 2021.

Azamara will celebrate its 10-year anniversary of Destination Immersion programming with a special event on 8 October 2020. On this evening Azamara will enhance its signature ‘AzAmazing Evenings’ – events designed to connect guests to the local culture of a destination – and create an incomparable experience, the “Ten-Years Further Event.”
