Azamara is one of five travel and cruise companies to be granted ‘Provisional Operator’ status to operate in Antarctica. The International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO) gave the boutique cruise line – along with Exploris, Polar Pioneer Management, Tecla, and Ultima – the nod effective 1 May 2023.

Azamara is forwarning travel advisors that the move from its existing reservation system to the Versonix Seaware platform will require a “black-out” window of three days for online bookings towards the end of February.

Azamara has confirmed plans to embed itself in the Australian marketplace by establishing stronger roots to foster growth in the Oceania region.

Azamara is celebrating its long-awaited return to Australia and New Zealand with the arrival of Azamara Quest, Captain Johannes Tysse and crew into Fremantle earlier this week. Azamara has released its 2024/25 program spanning the globe, with 44 new voyages and several first-time port call destinations.

Azamara is marking its return to South Africa and South America for the first time since early 2020.

Azamara has confirmed it will deploy its newest ship, Azamara Onward, on a second World Voyage from San Diego to Southampton in 2025. Departing on 6 January 2025, the 155-night voyage will visit 37 countries and include 46 overnights and late nights.
