Launch fares from $999 and $1,299 respectively, on sale now
Qantas will launch flagged new non-stop services from Brisbane to San Francisco and from Brisbane to Chicago on 9 February and 20 April respectively. The announcement follows final approval for Qantas’ joint business arrangement with American Airlines which was approved by the US Department of Transportation last week.

Antitrust immunity authorised by Trump Administration
The US Government has rubber stamped the proposed joint business agreement between Qantas and American Airlines, paving the way for the start of the flagged new non-stop flight routes across the Pacific between Brisbane and both Chicago and San Francisco. The decision follows draft approval from the US Department of Transportation (DOT) last month.

Air NZ’s longest route launched
Air New Zealand commenced services on its newest international route between Auckland and Chicago last Friday afternoon. Flight NZ26 departed at 5:01pm local time in Auckland and landed in Chicago at 12:11pm local time in Chicago. With a flight time of approximately 15 hours northbound (and just over 16 hours southbound), the flight is Air New Zealand’s longest, taking over from Auckland-Houston which has a flight time of 13.5 hours.

JetBlue Airways urges ATI time limitations
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport has insisted Washington approve a bid by Qantas and American Airlines to expand and strengthen their existing codeshare arrangement, saying failure to do so will be “injurious” to those airlines, consumers and competition.
