The newest purpose-built expedition vessel from Aurora Expeditions, Douglas Mawson, has successfully completed sea trials, marking a crucial step towards starting its inaugural voyages later this year.

Aurora Expeditions is reporting a successful inaugural small ship season, with all five Mediterranean voyages selling out well ahead of departure.

Aurora Expeditions has released its Wave Season offers on adventures in Antarctica and the Arctic. From now until 31 March 2025, travellers will receive savings of up to US$6,500 per person*, making it the ideal time to book an extraordinary journey to some of the most remote corners of the world in 2025 and 2026. Aurora Expeditions’ small-ship experiences aboard its three purpose-built ships Greg Mortimer, Sylvia Earle and its newest ship, Douglas Mawson, which is arriving in December 2025.

Aurora Expeditions’ new vessel, Douglas Mawson, has been launched at a ceremony in Haimen, China – the seventh and final vessel in SunStone Maritime Group’s Infinity Class series.
