Fiji Airways is offering greater flexibility to customers holding flight credits by extending validity by a further 12 months, up to 31 December 2022.

The oneworld airline alliance’s 13 members have committed to achieve net zero emissions in 30 years.

Fiji Airways has accepted delivery of the first of two brand-new A350 XWB aircraft from aircraft manufacturer Airbus via a lease agreement with DAE Capital. The Nadi-based carrier is the first airline in the South Pacific to operate the wide-body aircraft type, which will deliver new levels of fuel efficiency. Fiji Airways will operate the A350 on the Nadi-Los Angeles and Sydney routes.

Fiji Airways’ first of two Airbus A350 XWBs has rolled out of the Airbus paint shop in Toulouse, France featuring the airline’s signature livery. The aircraft, an A350-900, will be the first of its kind operated by an airline in the South Pacific region.

Fiji Airways is now offering premium passengers the opportunity to dine at the airline’s lounge before boarding their flight home. Dubbed ‘Dine on the Ground’, the two-pronged initiative aims to reduce inflight food wastage and enable passengers more time to rest in the air.

Fiji Airways has announced that it will acquire two new Airbus A350 XWB aircraft as part of its wide-body aircraft expansion plans. The new additions to the airline’s fleet will be used to primarily service popular routes between the US and Australia, with exact schedules to be confirmed closer to launch.

Fiji Airways will next week take delivery of its first new narrow-body aircraft, as the first oneworld Connect  airline further enhances the inflight experience for guests travelling to Fiji on the full service airline. 

Qantas has signalled its intent to restart non-stop services between Australia and Fiji next year. The Aussie carrier this week applied to the International Air Services Commission, seeking rights to relaunch flights commencing 31 March using narrow-body Boeing 737 aircraft.

“We’ve been reviewing our Tabua Club platform for a while now, exploring ways in which to enhance the value members get from our program. That review, combined with feedback from our members, has allowed us to introduce a host of fantastic benefits which are sure to delight members,” Fiji Airways CEO and Managing Director Andre Viljoen said.
