Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will once again be offering cruises to Scandinavia in the far north this European winter. The newest member of the fleet, HANSEATIC spirit, will not be going to Antarctica as originally planned but will instead offer expedition cruises to Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Julian Pfitzner, CEO of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is leaving the company, passing the baton onto his colleague Isolde Susset. Pfitzner took over operational management of the luxury and expedition cruise operator in December 2020. At his own request, he is handing over the helm of the five luxury and expedition ships to Susset, who has shaped the expedition segment at Hapag-Lloyd Cruises for more than two decades.

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has continued its success story in the expedition sector. After HANSEATIC spirit (2023), HANSEATIC inspiration also sailed the Amazon for the first time in March and April, all the way to Iquitos/Peru. No other international provider currently manages this route, the company says.
