Zero-emission vessels of the future for the Norwegian Coastal Passage
Hurtigruten Norway has unveiled plans for its first zero-emission electric and wind-powered ships, featuring retractable sails, slated to enter service in 2030. The new ship will be 135 meters long, and comprise 270 cabins, with a capacity of 500 guests and 99 crew.

Refurbished MS Trollfjord recommences historic route from Bergen to Longyearbyen
Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express has recommenced sailings between the Norwegian mainland and Svalbard for the first time since 1982. MS Trollfjord set sail from Bergen on Saturday on its way to Longyearbyen on the Svalbard Express route. The voyage was fully booked with both tourists and cargo on board.

Blue and white chimneys revived for Hurtirgruten’s 130th anniversary year
Hurigruten has returned MS Vesterålen back into operation on the Norwegian Coastal Express following a recent refurbishment. The enhancement project, revealed in late December, includes the original blue chimney that ties in with the same colour used on Hurtigruten’s very first ship to sail in 1893.
