HX Expeditions has confirmed that its Chief Financial and Transformation Officer James McArthur will step down from his role. after playing a central role in the company’s separation from Hurtigruten Group.

Hurtigruten has promoted Iain Powell as the company’s new Chief Commercial Officer. Powell joined Hurtigruten in March 2024 as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the UK and EMEA, before being promoted to Managing Director for the Nordics, UK, and Emerging Markets in December 2024.

One of Hurtigruten’s most well-known ship names is returning to the fleet. From mid-May 2025, the ship currently operating as MS Otto Sverdrup will be known by its original name: MS Finnmarken.
