MOL Cruises which operates the cruise brand MITSUI OCEAN CRUISES, yesterday marked the handover ceremony in collaboration with Seabourn, welcoming MITSUI OCEAN FUJI to the fleet.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a new Park Hyatt hotel for Sapporo. Scheduled to open in 2029, the hotel will be situated in the economic and cultural centre of the Hokkaido Prefecture in northern Japan. MOL Cruises, Ltd (MITSUI OCEAN CRUISES) has unveiled the debut itineraries for its new ship, Mitsui Ocean Fuji, which will sail roundtrip from Tokyo, Yokohama and other main Japanese ports from 1 December 2024 to 8 January 2025. The vessel is currently sailing as Seabourn Odyssey and will join MOL’s fleet in September after its swansong Alaskan season with the luxury cruise line.

Windstar Cruises has unveiled plans to send its newest ship, Star Seeker, cruising to Alaska and Japan when it joins the fleet in 2026. Windstar last sailed in Alaska and Japan in 2023 before it redeployed Star Breeze to be the year-round ship in Tahiti.

Banyan Group says it will open the doors to Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto in the third quarter of 2024, marking the entry of the Banyan Tree brand in Japan. Located in the historic Higashiyama Ward of Kyoto City, Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto will feature 52 guestrooms, the signature Banyan Tree Spa and two distinctive dining experiences.
