Eclipse Expeditions, an Australian West Coast catamaran charter operator, has introduced two new cruising destinations to its schedule and extended its operational season. The fresh itineraries come as Eclipse Expeditions welcomes a performance catamaran to its operation, aptly named Eclipse.

PONANT has launched its 2025 Kimberley season with 18 departures available to book between May and September 2025. Le Jacques-Cartier returns to the region in 2025 for the second year after her inaugural season in the Kimberley this year, alongside sistership Le Soléal sailing the 10-night Australia’s Iconic Kimberley itineraries between Broome and Darwin.

Sarina Bratton, Senior Strategic Advisor and Honorary Chairwoman for PONANT was this week zealous about the introduction of Paspaley Pearl by PONANT 30-guest vessel that Paspaley acquired earlier in the year. Hosting a media event in Sydney, Bratton said the boutique size of the ship will open up around five times as many destinations in the Kimberley compared to the 10 or so locations accessed by the expedition line’s bigger, 200-guest ships.

PONANT is expanding its partnership with luxury pearling company Paspaley, which is set to introduce an expedition motor yacht in the Kimberley in 2024. Based out of Broome and operating year-round from next June, M/Y Paspaley Pearl by PONANT will cater to 30 guests and signals a new era of luxury explorations in the region.

Silversea Cruises will deploy its hybrid expedition ship Silver Cloud to Western Australia’s Kimberley in 2024, offering increased capacity for the ultra-luxury cruise operator in the destination

Seabourn has confirmed it will sail the Kimberley in 2024, utilising its brand new expedition ship, Seabourn Pursuit, marking the line’s first visit to the region. The new voyages, first flagged by LATTE in May 2021, include six 10- day voyages between Broome and Darwin that will take place between June and August 2024.

Seabourn has only scratched the surface of what can potentially be unlocked through luxury expedition cruising, says Steve Smotrys, Vice President of Global Sales for the ultra-luxury cruise line.

Aqua Expeditions is targeting a larger stake of business from the Australian luxury cruise segment, with Founder and CEO Francesco Galli Zugaro saying he believes Aussies could be his brand’s third largest revenue market in time.
