LVMH plans ultra-luxury 83-room hotel for Mayfair
A new luxury hotel designed to lure high-end shoppers away from department stores and back to street-front outlets has been proposed for London by luxury goods retailer, LVMH. The Cheval Blanc London would bring “new luxury services with high level of expectations to the local environment of Mayfair,” papers submitted to the UK’s Westminster Council state.

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London will reopen its doors on 4 December 2018, welcoming guests into all its public areas, restaurants and event spaces. The landmark property will also unveil the renovated and enlarged Spa at Mandarin Oriental, London, ahead of a full opening of its rooms and suites in Spring 2019. The luxury hotel completed the most extensive renovation in the property’s 115-year history in June 2018, however a fire a week after its reopening has seen the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London temporarily closed.

Girlahead discovers if Ham Yard Hotel lives up to its reputation
London’s Ham Yard Hotel, right in the middle of Soho and two minutes’ walk from Piccadilly Circus, wins the trophy for the English capital’s most-decorated hotel 2018. The unforgettable property’s GM Laura Sharpe is rated by the leading trade magazine CATERER as best GM in the whole of UK; the owning company, Firmdale Hotels, is best hotel group, says the same publication. On top of this, the 10-hotel Firmdale, led by its founders, real estate genius Tim Kemp and his designer wife, Kit Kemp, has gained the UK’s highly prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise, International Trade, 2018. The gal obviously wanted to see if such accolades were justified, and if Ham Yard lived up to its reputation.
