Marriott International has inked a deal to open The Ritz-Carlton, Montenegro and The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Montenegro, marking the brand’s first property in the country.

Expedia Group will become the exclusive global optimised distributor of Marriott International’s wholesale rates, availability and content to a network of global travel providers, effective 15 October 2019.

Marriott International will add a second Autograph Collection hotel to its Australian portfolio, having inked a deal with Iconic Hotels to debut its first-ever hotel in Canberra. Midnight Hotel, part of Geocon’s $200 million residential and commercial development in Braddon, central Canberra, will open in September 2019.

Marriott International has signed management contracts with hotel developers who plan to build five new all-inclusive resorts, including a resort destination dubbed “NIA” that will be home to four resorts. The developers are investing over US$800 million and demonstrating confidence in Marriott International’s scale, loyalty platform and operational expertise. The resorts are expected to open between 2022 and 2025.

The Langley, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Buckinghamshire has opened outside London in the heart of Langley Park following a six-year renovation. The property boasts 41 bedrooms throughout two buildings – the historic former hunting lodge and the adjacent 18th century Brew House.

Hilton Hotels & Resorts has extended its lead as the world’s most valuable individual hotel brand and group portfolio over Marriott, according to the latest Brand Finance rankings.

Marriott International is entering the home rental market with a new business arm called Homes & Villas by Marriott International, offering 2,000 premium and luxury homes in over 100 destinations throughout the US, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America. The initiative will see Marriott take on the likes of Airbnb and HomeAway, and builds on the brand expansion of Tribute Portfolio Homes which was piloted last year.

W Hotels Worldwide is adding a second property in Bali. The group will develop a new property in Ubud, complementing W Bali – Seminyak which opened in 2010.
