Doha-based carrier expands network to 177 destinations
Qatar Airways has revealed this week at the Kuwait Aviation Show that it will be adding eight additional destinations to its network in 2020: Nur-Sultan and Almaty, Kazakhstan; Cebu, Philippines; Accra, Ghana; Trabzon, Turkey; Luanda, Angola; Lyon, France and Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Deutsche Bahn codeshare partnership to eight destinations from Frankfurt

New routes to Dubrovnik and Osaka also coming
Qatar Airways is ramping up its Mediterranean network, adding two new destinations in the first half of 2020. The Doha-based carrier will also add 66 weekly frequencies to 20 existing destinations in its network due to strong market demand and the recent deliveries of more fuel-efficient aircraft.

Gulf carrier celebrates 10 years of flying down under
On 5 December, Qatar Airways celebrated its 10-year anniversary since they first launched in the Australian market. To mark the milestone, the airline hosted a pop-up restaurant in Melbourne, with a specially curated menu to showcase local Australian produce. Qatar Airways first launched in Australia in 2009, offering flights three times a week from Melbourne to Doha, Qatar. The airline now operates 35 flights per week to and from Australia with flights from Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra. On a daily basis, the airline averages over 1,700 passengers each way between Australia and Doha, with London and Athens being the top destinations for Australian passengers.

Qsuite coming to Adelaide route too
Qatar Airways has announced a range of upgrades to the customer experience on the Sydney, Canberra and Adelaide route. The Doha-based airline will introduce the new state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000 once-daily on its Canberra-Sydney-Doha route, effective 27 October 2019. The afternoon A350-1000 flight (from Canberra/Sydney) will compliment Qatar Airways’ existing A380 evening service between Sydney and Doha.
