Scenic Group has reached an early milestone in the construction of its second Discovery Yacht in Rijeka, Croatia. The official keel-laying ceremony was held for Scenic Eclipse II on Wednesday at the Maj 3 shipyard.

Scenic has abandoned plans to bring its ultra-luxury yacht, Scenic Eclipse, to Australian waters next month.

Scenic is set to offer guests aboard its six-star Scenic Eclipse yacht the opportunity to take to the mountain slopes of Antarctica on a heli-skiing experience.

Scenic has confirmed plans to deploy its six-star, ultra-luxury yacht to Australian waters for the first time in mid-2021.

Scenic Group has launched its 2022/23 Scenic Eclipse Worldwide Discovery Voyages Collection. The program will see Scenic Eclipse explores six continents, visiting 35 countries across 48 voyages and provides travel agent partners with a range of new destinations to offer clients.

Luxury travel company, Scenic, has become only the second Australian firm accepted into the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO) as a full-fledged operator.

The Scenic Group’s newly formed shipbuilding company, MKM Yachts, was granted a sub concession of the 3. Maj Shipyard in Rijeka, Croatia, at an official signing ceremony on 2 July 2020. The arrangement provides Scenic with more than 21,400 square metres of the shipyard’s dock for the development and production of its ultra-luxury polar yacht fleet over the next 10 years.

Work has officially commenced on Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours’ second polar cruise ship in Croatia. The first sheets of steel for the hull of Scenic Eclipse II were cut last Friday [24 April 2020] at the 3. Maj dockyard in Rijeka following a low-key ceremony.

Australian-owned luxury travel company Scenic has contracted a Croatian shipyard to deliver its second polar-class “Discovery Yacht”, Scenic Eclipse II. And as LATTE reported five months ago, a second ship is just the start of an expanded fleet.

Ten voyages across Europe and the Mediterranean will be offered by Scenic aboard Scenic Eclipse for its second season through the region in April and May next year.
