Scenic has released the highly-anticipated first interior photos of its new six-star “Discovery Yacht”, Scenic Eclipse, as the vessel prepares for its maiden voyage from Reykjavik, Iceland to Quebec, Canada, departing today.

Scenic has given a taste of what’s to come, with a preview image of the submarine that’ll be available to guests cruising aboard Scenic Eclipse – the long-awaited six-star Discovery Yacht that will begin commercial operation next week.

Last Friday Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours quietly took delivery of its first ‘Discovery Yacht’, Scenic Eclipse, from the Croatian shipyard from which it was constructed.

Scenic has named Dame Helen Mirren as the Godmother of Scenic Eclipse. The maiden voyage of the luxury vessel is scheduled for 15 August, 2019, departing Reykjavik, Iceland on a 13-day discovery sailing, ending in Quebec on 27 August .

Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has scrapped sailing to Cuba planned for Scenic Eclipse in a few months time, revising its program to offer new options in the Caribbean and Central America. The schedule adjustment is understood to be direct result of the Trump Administration’s ban on US citizens travelling to Cuba.

Seabourn has unveiled details of the submarines that will be offered aboard its expedition fleet from 2021. Seabourn Venture and her yet-to-be-named sister-ship will each carry a U-Boat Worx Cruise Sub 7 submersible, an underwater battery-powered craft that will take up to six guests to a depth of up to 300 metres below sea-level. They have been “designed specifically for Seabourn,” the cruise company said.

Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has confirmed the successful completion of extensive sea trials of Scenic Eclipse, the World’s First Discovery Yacht, as the vessel moves closer to her official launch on August 15, 2019. The sea trials were held in the Adriatic Sea off the coast of Croatia, where the six-star ship has been under construction at the Pula shipyard.

Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours says its Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse, remains on track for delivery in mid-August 2019, despite bankruptcy proceedings opening this month at the Croatian shipyard where the vessel is currently receiving its finishing touches.

Croatia’s Uljanik Shipyard has been declared bankrupt by a commercial court in Pazin, with proceedings against the parent company, Uljanik Group, commencing earlier this week.

Scenic Luxury Cruise & Tour’s maiden luxury cruise ship, Scenic Eclipse, has been moved from the troubled Uljanik Shipyard in Pula, Croatia. The vessel has repositioned to the Viktor Lenac facility on the Croatian Adriatic coast, approximately 130 kms to the east.
