Australian-owned luxury travel company Scenic has contracted a Croatian shipyard to deliver its second polar-class “Discovery Yacht”, Scenic Eclipse II. And as LATTE reported five months ago, a second ship is just the start of an expanded fleet.

Ten voyages across Europe and the Mediterranean will be offered by Scenic aboard Scenic Eclipse for its second season through the region in April and May next year.

Scenic Eclipse has wowed guests on her inaugural voyage to Antarctica this week with a rare sighting of emperor penguins in the Weddell Sea.

LATTE was recently a guest aboard Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours’ Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse, where we sailed the Caribbean Sea visiting ports in Jamaica, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize and Mexico. We took the opportunity to speak with a number of crew and personnel while on board to learn more about their cruise industry background, their reason for joining Scenic Eclipse in its inaugural season, and some of their favourite ports and parts of the World’s First Discovery Yacht.

As Scenic Eclipse departs on its first voyage to Antarctica, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has released the 2020/22 Scenic Eclipse Antarctica and America Voyages & Land Journeys brochures. This brochure details ocean exploration voyages and handcrafted land itineraries showcasing Scenic’s all-inclusive ultra-luxury cruise offerings and land-cruise combinations.

Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours will take over full management of its entire river ship fleet on the Rhine, Main, Danube and Douro Rivers of Europe next year.

Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours has unveiled a new 12-day cruise tour through Egypt for 2021. Escorted by an expert Scenic Tour Director and accompanied by an expert Egyptologist, the journey operates round-trip from Giza (Cairo) and visits Aswan and Abu Simbel where guests board the luxury Sanctuary Sun Boat III and cruise the Nile for six nights to Luxor, before returning to Cairo for two final nights.

Hard to get to locations in Jamaica, Honduras and Belize were accessed with ease for a group of travel advisors and executives, all first-time visitors to the Caribbean on the recent Scenic Eclipse VIP famil through the region. And while new destinations were ticked off the list of locations to explore, it was the ultra-luxury yacht itself and the facilities onboard that were the focus of this famil.

LATTE has this week joined a group of Scenic’s top-selling travel advisors from Australia and New Zealand who are hard at work at the moment, road testing Scenic Eclipse on her inaugural voyage through the Caribbean.
