Seabourn has confirmed its first-ever Grand Africa Voyage, departing on 30 November 2024. Seabourn Sojourn will circumnavigate the continent and sail more than 27,000 kilometres during a 90-day roundtrip adventure from Barcelona, Spain.

Seabourn has named Natalya Leahy as the ultra-luxury cruise line’s new President, succeeding Josh Leibowitz who is departing the brand to “pursue new opportunities”.

The fleet of luxury cruise line Seabourn will soon swell to seven, with a second purpose-built expedition ship, Seabourn Pursuit, now on track to enter service two months earlier than scheduled. But aside from the obvious differences in ship design and ‘toys’ onboard, how does the experience vary for guests between Seabourn’s traditional Ocean fleet and its new ultra-luxury Expedition vessels?

Seabourn’s entire fleet of ultra-luxury ships is now back in operation with the departure of Seabourn Sojourn from Athens, Greece yesterday [6 June 2022].

Seabourn has opened bookings for its 2024 World Cruise: Extraordinary Horizons aboard Seabourn Sojourn. The 145-day voyage will visit 72 destinations in 28 ports, on five continents, and includes 20 overnight stays.

Seabourn has updated the planned resumption date of the return of Seabourn Sojourn by six months. The ultra-luxury was flagged to return to service on 11 January 2022 following a voluntary pause due to the pandemic. Now Seabourn Sojourn will relaunch on 6 June 2022.

Seabourn will now include WiFi aboard its ships as part of the ultra-luxury onboard inclusive experience. Seabourn now includes complimentary WiFi with unlimited minutes for all bookings so guests can access the internet throughout their voyage from anywhere on the ship.

Seabourn has revealed details on some of the special events that will take place during the upcoming 145-day “2022 World Cruise: Extraordinary Horizons,” aboard Seabourn Sojourn.

Seabourn has opened bookings for its 2023 140-day World Cruise on Seabourn Sojourn and 79-day Grand Voyage aboard Seabourn Quest. “Given these uncertain times, our guests have asked Seabourn to offer travel options further into the future. With the 2023 World Cruise and Grand Voyage, we open options well into 2023 for future planning,” said Josh Leibowitz, President of Seabourn.

Seabourn has opened bookings for a vast number of 2022 northern summer and autumn voyages through Europe, Alaska, Canada, and New England.

Seabourn has reported robust booking volume for its 2022 World Cruise: Extraordinary Horizons program since opening for reservations. The cruise line says the demand demonstrates an “underlying desire by luxury travellers to book a long vacation experience during a time where travel opportunities have been limited”. Seabourn’s premiere itinerary is already half filled on segments through the halfway point in Shanghai, with only limited space remaining on the leg from Los Angeles on the full 145-day voyage or shorter segments.
