Seabourn’s two purpose-built expedition ships, Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit, will be equipped with next-generation wi-fi connectivity with SpaceX’s Starlink.

Seabourn Venture, Seabourn’s first purpose-built expedition ship, made its maiden arrival in Greenwich, London in England in the early hours of 12 May 2023. The vessel will operate two voyages to the British Isles and Ireland from Greenwich before embarking on a series of voyages to Greenland and Iceland.

Seabourn has confirmed its first-ever Grand Africa Voyage, departing on 30 November 2024. Seabourn Sojourn will circumnavigate the continent and sail more than 27,000 kilometres during a 90-day roundtrip adventure from Barcelona, Spain.

Seabourn has held an intimate coin ceremony for the second of its two expeditions ships, Seabourn Pursuit, at the T. Mariotti shipyards in Italy where the vessel is being constructed. The coin laying ceremony is a maritime tradition at which the madrina places coins on the vessel, viewed as a symbol of good fortune for her sailings.

Seabourn went head-to-head with some of Europe’s most luxurious hotels on Wednesday night in Melbourne. An event hosted by the luxury cruise line and La Collection aspired to resolve the age old question: Is Europe Best Explored by Land or Sea?

Seabourn has confirmed the sale of Seabourn Odyssey to Japanese shipping company, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. The luxury cruise line will continue to operate all published voyages of Seabourn Odyssey through 22 August 2024 under a charter arrangement, after which time the vessel will be delivered to MOL.

Seabourn has named Natalya Leahy as the ultra-luxury cruise line’s new President, succeeding Josh Leibowitz who is departing the brand to “pursue new opportunities”.

Seabourn has confirmed it will sail the Kimberley in 2024, utilising its brand new expedition ship, Seabourn Pursuit, marking the line’s first visit to the region. The new voyages, first flagged by LATTE in May 2021, include six 10- day voyages between Broome and Darwin that will take place between June and August 2024.

The fleet of luxury cruise line Seabourn will soon swell to seven, with a second purpose-built expedition ship, Seabourn Pursuit, now on track to enter service two months earlier than scheduled. But aside from the obvious differences in ship design and ‘toys’ onboard, how does the experience vary for guests between Seabourn’s traditional Ocean fleet and its new ultra-luxury Expedition vessels?

Seabourn is bringing forward the launch of its second purpose-built expedition vessel, Seabourn Pursuit by two months, releasing a fresh tranche of new pre-inaugural sailings to the Mediterranean, transAtlantic and Caribbean.

Seabourn’s new ultra-luxury expedition ship, Seabourn Venture, will be out of action for most of April and May 2023 as the vessel heads into dry dock for repairs to its stabilisers. The decision will see five sailings scrapped, including an expedition to the Amazon, a transatlantic positioning cruise to Europe and two Northern Europe itineraries, falling between 7-30 April 2023.
