Silversea Cruises has trimmed prices on three new subantarctic voyages, departing from Auckland or Dunedin between December 2020 and February 2021.

Until 31 March 2020, any retail agent who makes three new bookings on select Silversea Expedition voyages departing between 1 April 2020 and 31 December 2021 will be eligible to sail free on one of nine Silversea Expedition 2020 voyages. Agents will have the opportunity to discover North and South America, Australia, the New Zealand Sub-Antarctic and South Africa on board Silver Wind, Silver Explorer or Silver Cloud. A bonus 5% commission is also available for each new booking made on the select range of voyages.

Silversea has waived the single supplement on nine voyages departing in 2020 and 2021. In addition, Silversea is offering solo travellers the opportunity to travel deeper into many other destinations around the world with a wide range of fares with single supplements of just 10% and 25%.

Silversea Cruises’ travel advisor appreciation program, ‘Campioni di Silversea’ (Champions of Silversea), has officially commenced. Silversea Cruises has confirmed Adam Armstrong, Managing Director Australia & New Zealand, will depart the ultra-luxury cruise line later this year to pursue other opportunities outside of the cruise industry.

Silversea Cruises has revealed the Godmother of its next ultra-luxury cruise ship, Silver Moon, will be Gaia Gaja. Known as the ‘Queen of Barbareso’, Gaja is of the fifth generation to own and manage the renowned Gaja winery in the small Italian town of Barbaresco – a family-run business and producer of Italian wine since 1859.

Cruisers are seeking far-flung, pristine destinations in 2020, driven by a desire for immersion in each location, according to global luxury travel network Virtuoso. The network recently unveiled its cruise trends for the year in time for ‘wave season,’ occurring January through March, when savvy travellers book voyages to benefit from special incentives.

Silversea’s destination-specific ship Silver Origin has floated out of the De Hoop shipyard in Lobith, the Netherlands. The all-suite, 100-guest ship touched water for the first time on 30 December 2019.

Silversea’s latest ship to undergo an extensive refurbishment, Silver Shadow, has recently emerged from dry dock with a revamped interior and new livery. Silver Shadow’s makeover includes the first two-tone design adopted in Silversea’s history. The ultra-luxury cruise ship also features decorative crystal artworks from lifestyle brand Lalique, installed in Silver Shadow’s La Dame Restaurant to enrich the dining experience for guests.
