World’s first Airbus A350-900ULR aircraft readies for commercial operation
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has taken delivery of the world’s first Airbus A350-900ULR (ultra-long-range) aircraft from Airbus. It is the first of seven A350-900ULRs on firm order and will enter service on 11 October 2018, operating the world’s longest commercial flight between Singapore and Newark Liberty International Airport.

Singapore Airlines has chosen Adelaide as the launch destination for its first Airbus A350-900 aircraft fitted with all new medium-haul cabin products. Launching on 18 December from Adelaide, subject to regulatory approval, flight SQ278/279 will be operated daily by the two-class, 303-seat A350-900, providing South Australian customers first access to an unparalleled level of comfort and technology and increasing capacity by nearly 7%.

A350-900ULR on the SIN/LAX route
Singapore Airlines will launch non-stop flights between Singapore and Los Angeles using the new Airbus A350-900ULR (ultra-long-range) aircraft in November. In addition, SIA will step up existing daily non-stop Singapore – San Francisco services to 10 times per week.
