With more and more travellers heading over to Switzerland for a white Christmas and plenty of snow action, Switzerland Tourism has put together a list of must-dos to help visitors make the most of their time while not missing out on the country’s top highlights for the season.

While summer and winter remain the most popular seasons to visit Switzerland, autumn also gains its fair share of interest. A season far too short, Switzerland Tourism says this is, however, the most ideal time for a sensory indulgence.

The hotly anticipated annual Swiss Travel Pass SuperStar Program has kicked off and will run for three months ending 27 September, 2019.

Switzerland Tourism’s city campaign focuses on the country’s boutique towns, highlighting certain city experiences that may sometimes not be obvious to visitors. This helps them to feel like a local while exploring the country because it’s not just about taking a peek into the ways of life of the locals but experiencing the cities like one as well.

Travel trade partners were given the opportunity to meet Switzerland Tourism’s impending new local chief at a cocktail event and market update in Sydney last night at the West Hotel.

On Wednesday [10 April 2019], over 100 travel agents and trade partners gathered at ‘View by Sydney’ to discover a different side of Europe. ‘See Europe Differently’ was the theme of the glamorous Soiree put together by Entire Travel Group in partnership with Atout France, Monaco Tourism Board, Switzerland Tourism, Le Boat and Rail Europe.

Already one of the most exclusive rail experiences in Switzerland and around the world where passengers travel across 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels on an eight-hour journey between St Moritz and Zermatt, the Excellence Class was created in response to the many passengers’ requests for a top class luxury offering in terms of experience, service and quality.

Wine is undoubtedly one of Switzerland’s best-kept secrets, with more and more interest pouring in thanks to the high quality and standards produced. As such, Switzerland Tourism has revealed the country’s top wine festivals to help agents and their wine-loving clients with their holiday planning.

With more and more new and repeat travellers heading to Switzerland for the ski season each year, Switzerland Tourism is introducing fresh products and creating inspiration to encourage visitors to see and experience different parts and activities offered throughout the country. During the 2017/18 winter season alone (between November-April), the number of Australian visitor numbers increased 10.8%.

Switzerland Tourism has unveiled a campaign centred on the European country’s culinary offering, called Taste My Swiss City. Curated and compiled by local foodies, the self-guided culinary tours are offered in 11 Swiss cities and include up to 7 hand-picked restaurants, bars, bistros and cafes, linked by leisurely walks.
