Tauck has reprised the role in Australia of Helen Eves, expanding her previous title to National Account Manager.

An in-depth exploration of the Swiss and Bavarian Alps has been introduced to the touring program of Tauck for this year.The eight-day itinerary will immerse guests in the region’s rich and fascinating culture, and be highlighted by a performance of the traditional Passion Play in the alpine village of Oberammergau, Germany, where residents have been staging the epic performance depicting the final days of Jesus Christ since 1634. The 2020 staging of the play was postponed due to COVID, and is now rescheduled for this year.

Guests traveling on Tauck’s “Antarctica” cruise last week were treated to a surprise champagne toast in celebration of an important milestone: their group represents Tauck’s 850th trip since resuming operations last January. The toast took place at Tauck’s featured pre-cruise hotel in Buenos Aires, and the 13-day journey concludes this week in Ushuaia, Argentina.

Many travel companies that previously relied on outbound tourism, particularly those based in Australia, pivoted their businesses during the pandemic to cater for the resurgence in domestic travel. Tauck however didn’t. Here’s why.

Tauck has promoted longtime company executive Jeremy Palmer to the role of Chief Operating Officer.Palmer has served Tauck in a variety of operational and planning roles since starting with the US-based company in 2007, most recently as a Senior Vice President overseeing the company’s Worldwide Operations, BrandManagement and Tauck Director Management departments, as well as Tauck’s strategic planning and new business initiatives. Palmer has also been a member of the company’s Executive Team since 2015.

US-based escorted tour, small ship and river cruise operator, Tauck, will reignite a vision to increase its brand awareness in Australia as part of a 5-year business strategy for the market. The vision includes an elevated presence and additional feet on the ground to service local trade partners.

Tauck has expanded a policy implemented earlier this year on its European tours and cruises, now requiring all guests ages 12 and over be fully vaccinated. The expanded vaccination requirement came into effect on 7 September 7, and applies to all of Tauck’s tours and cruises worldwide.

Passengers aboard the inaugural sailing on Tauck’s new riverboat, ms Andorinha, were the surprise guests of honour for the luxury vessel’s christening ceremony in the riverside village of Barca d’Alv.

Tauck has revealed Co-Godmothers for its new riverboat, ms Andorihna, which debuts on the Douro River in Portugal next month.

Tauck will resume full operations of all remaining 2021 itineraries in the coming months to almost all global destinations – barring Canada, Asia, Australia and New Zealand due to those region’s current travel restrictions.

Tauck says the time is now right to relaunch touring and cruising in select international markets after an extended pandemic hiatus. The US travel company will restart operations in Europe and Africa over the next few months building on a recent expansion of its US domestic trips.
