Viking’s Explorer Sale is now on, providing exceptional value across the cruise company’s river, ocean and expedition voyages with limited-time offers available on all new bookings made before 28 March 2024.

Viking has opened reservations for the 2026 season of its European river voyages. With many 2024 dates already sold out and the 2025 season selling well, strong demand has led to an early opening of all 2026 departures for Viking’s iconic itineraries on the rivers of Europe.

Viking has announced it will welcome an additional 10 Viking Longships® to its river fleet in the coming years.

Viking has floated out its newest ocean ship—the 998-guest Viking Vela— at Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard in Italy, marking a major construction milestone and the first time the ship has touched water. Scheduled to debut in December 2024, Viking Vela will spend her inaugural season sailing voyages in the Mediterranean and in Northern Europe.

Viking is adding a new ship to its fleet in Southeast Asia in 2025, when the new Viking Tonle begins sailing. Designed for the Mekong River, the 80-guest vessel will join its identical sister ship, Viking Saigon, which debuted in 2022. Viking Tonle will sail between Kampong Cham, Cambodia and Mỹ Tho, Vietnam as part of the cruise line’s popular 15-day Magnificent Mekong itinerary.

Viking has enhanced its Rewards by Viking program with the launch of Viking Voyage Vouchers. The vouchers, created in response to demand from travel advisors wishing to experience Viking first-hand, enable frontline sellers to redeem Rewards by Viking points for vouchers towards a Viking voyage of their own.

Citing “popular demand”, Viking has added 17 new Danube and 25 new Rhine River departure dates across five of its festive European river itineraries for 2024. The itineraries, which celebrate storied Christmas traditions along the banks of the Rhine and Danube, showcase some of Europe’s biggest and best Christmas markets amongst vibrant cobblestone cities, medieval castles, and quaint fairytale villages.

Viking has added a new 2024 sailing date of its Malta, Morocco & the Mediterranean voyage. The inaugural 2024 season of the itinerary sold out within weeks of launching in April, making it one of Viking’s most successful to date. The new departure on 19 December 2024 will be on board Viking’s newest ocean ship, Viking Vela.
