Scarlet Lady and Seven Seas Splendor touch water
It’s been a huge couple of days for Italian shipbuilding company, Fincantieri. Having just delivered the sixth Viking ocean ship at its shipyard in Ancona late last week, on Saturday 10 February, Fincantieri also launched Regent Sevens Seas Cruises’ next ultra-luxury vessel into the water for the first time.

Virgin Voyages has released artist impressions and a video of its top-of-the-line “RockStar Suites”, designed by Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio. There will be 78 RockStar Suites, spread across eight suite categories, comprising: 24 Seriously Suites, 18 Brilliant Suites, seven Sweet Aft Suites, 14 Cheeky Corner Suites, nine Gorgeous Suites, two Posh Suites, two Fab Suites and the pièce de résistance, two Massive Suites.

Virgin Voyages has revealed renderings of its new two-storey cruise facility and “future home” on Dodge Island in Miami, from where its maiden ship, Scarlet Lady, will homeport once constructed.

Virgin Voyages has released further details of the dining options that will be offered aboard its launch ship, Scarlet Lady, including specialty restaurants. The new-to-cruising company revealed it would not surcharge “sailors” dining at its finer establishments, choosing an “all in” pricing structure on nosh.

Fincantieri to deliver fourth sister ship in 2023
Shipbuilder Fincantieri has announced that Virgin Voyages has signed a contract valued at approximately 700 million euros for the construction of a fourth cruise ship, to be delivered at the end of 2023. Meanwhile, Sir Richard Branson has revealed Havanna, Cuba as one of the first destinations the ship will sail.
