Star Seeker’s arrival will enable the revival of fan-favourite destinations in H2 2026
Windstar Cruises has unveiled plans to send its newest ship, Star Seeker, cruising to Alaska and Japan when it joins the fleet in 2026. Windstar last sailed in Alaska and Japan in 2023 before it redeployed Star Breeze to be the year-round ship in Tahiti.

Star Seeker and Star Explorer will feature ice-strengthened hulls
Windstar Cruises has revealed an expansion of its fleet with two all-suite motor yachts, Star Seeker and Star Explorer. The first of the two ships, new-build Star Seeker – which is currently being constructed in the WestSEA shipyard – is expected to be delivered in December of 2025, followed by Star Explorer in December 2026. Both ships will have ice-strengthened hulls, unlocking access to new destinations.

Star Legend bound for the Med over the winter, showcased at ILTM Cannes
Windstar Cruises has delayed its inaugural season in the Middle East, likely due to the conflict in Israel and the Gaza Strip, releasing a winter season in the Mediterranean instead. Star Legend will now offer itineraries between December 2023 and April 2024, sailing to ports including Barcelona, Nice, Florence/Livorno, Marseille and Rome. The ship will also be showcased in Cannes during the annual luxury travel showcase, ILTM Cannes.

Windstar Cruises has appointed Janet Bava as the small ship cruise operator’s new Chief Commercial Officer, effective 24 July 2023. Current CCO, Betsy O’Rourke, and the CCO of Windstar’s parent company, Xanterra Travel Collection, will move to a consultancy capacity with Xanterra and its ownership, The Anschutz Corporation.
