After a five-year hiatus, United Airlines will resume services out of New York’s JFK Airport from 1 February, 2021, offering transcontinental nonstop flights to the west coast.

United Airlines has introduced an interactive map feature that enables customers to compare airfares network-wide based on a range of criteria. Powered by Google Flight Search technology and accessed on United.com, customers can easily compare and shop for flights, based on departure city, budget and location type, such as popular national parks, skiing and cultural destinations.

United Airlines will resume operation between Los Angeles and Sydney in September after a prolonged coronavirus pause in service. The US airline has maintained an ongoing presence between Australia and the US throughout 2020 on the San Francisco-Sydney route.

United Airlines has introduced a series of changes to assist customers and MileagePlus members, including extending members current MileagePlus Premier status through January 2022. At a minimum, all MileagePlus Premier members will retain the status they earned for 2020, through January 2022*. In addition, for the 2021 status year, United is reducing thresholds for Premier qualification by 50% for each status level, to make reaching an even higher status tier easier.

North American carriers Delta Air Lines and WestJet have sought approval from the US transport regulator for a joint venture to integrate their combined passenger services between the United States and Canada in a bid to better compete against rivals.

The United Polaris lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport caters for up to 455 seated guests, and features 10 shower suites and 10 private daybeds.
